37th Infantry, (8th Reserves), Second State Color. The regiment was formed in June, 1861, and its second state color was received in December 1863. The regiment was composed of men from Armstrong, Butler, Allegheny, Fayette, Philadelphia, Bedford, Clarion, Greene, and Washington counties. The 37th was mustered out of service on May 24, 1864. One of the color-bearers was Corporal John M. Oliver of Company K.

The regiment was composed of men from Armstrong, Butler, Allegheny, Fayette, Philadelphia, Bedford, Clarion, Greene, and Washington counties. The flag was retired in December 1863 when the regiment received a replacement. The 37th was mustered out of service on May 24, 1864. One of the color-bearers was Corporal John M. Oliver of Company K.
